As a resort for czars and nobles in the Middle Ages, Tsaritsyno Palace became a characteristic of Moscow.
Located in the southeast of Moscow, the capital of Russia, it is a famous palace complex with typical Gothic style buildings covering the area of 116 hectares.
In 1776, Empress Ekaterina II of Russia ordered the construction of this royal complex. The designer was the famous architect Bazhenov at the time. Later, because the queen was dissatisfied with the palace built, the palace was demolished and rebuilt according to another architect’s design, that of Kazakov .
Until the queen's death, the royal garden was not built. Since 1860, the manor and other buildings have been transformed into villas, and many well-known writers have spent their holidays here. Beginning in 2004, the Moscow Government has been actively restoring Tsaritsyno Park. There is a musical fountain at the entrance of Tsaritsyno Park, which brings you a different visual and auditory enjoyment as soon as you enter the door.
In the park there is also the only large-scale greenhouse in Moscow, where 18th-century plant species are still growing.
